>> Visit the Casey Wise biography on Baseball Almanac for complete statistics. Casey Wise, an infielder who played in parts of four seasons in the major leagues, died on Feb. 20, 2007 in Naples, Fla. He appeared in 126 games in four seasons. His career included stops with Chicago NL (1957), Milwaukee NL (1958-1959) and Detroit AL (1960). He hit .174 in 321 at-bats with three home runs and 17 RBI. He hit .197 in 71 at-bats in 1958, his highest career total. In November 1968, the Cubs traded him to Milwaukee for Ben Johnson, Chick King and a minor league player. In October 1959, Milwaukee traded him, along with Don Kaiser and Mike Roarke, to Detroit for Charlie Lau and Don Lee. Following his career as a player, he was an orthodontist in Naples, Fla. and worked there until his retirement in 1991. |
