Archie Wilson, an outfielder who debuted with the Yankees in 1951, died on April 28, 2007 in Decatur, Ala.

He played in 51 games in two seasons in the major leagues. He hit .221 with 17 RBI in 140 at-bats.

In May 1952, the Yankees traded him, along with Jackie Jensen, Spec Shea and Jerry Snyder to Washington for Irv Noren and Tom Upton. His stay in Washington was brief. The team traded him in June 1952 to the Boston Red Sox for Ken Wood.
