Terrell Wade, born in Rembert, South Carolina, looked like he was on his way to being a pitching star in the major leagues after he finished with a 5-0 record in 8 starts for the Braves in 1996.
However, injuries would sidetrack his career and he would eventually be selected in the expansion draft by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
In 1995, Wade made his debut with the Braves, appearing in just 3 games and finished with an 0-1 record and a 4.50 earned run average in 4 innings pitched.
The next season, he appeared in 44 games, finishing 5-0 with a save and a 2.97 earned run average. He also collected 79 strikeouts in 69.2 innings pitched.
In 1997, Wade pitched 42 innings in 12 games for the Braves. His season ended early due to a hip injury. Wade finished wth season with a disappointed 5.36 earned run average and a 2-3 record.
In 1998, he pitched in 10.2 innings of 2 games with the Devil Rays before suffering a shoulder injury. He finished the season with a 1-1 record and a 5.06 earned run average.
