His death was listed as natural causes. He was 60. Vaughan was 19 years old when he played in nine games for Houston in 1963. He had five hits in 30 at-bats and a stolen base in nine games. He graduated from Lamar High School in Houston in 1961 and signed as a free agent with Houston in 1962. Later, he graduated from the University of Houston and served in the Army and Coast Guard Reserves.
