C. Carlisle Tippit

C. Carlisle "Tip" Tippit, a businessman who was a former part owner of the Cleveland Indians, died of kidney failure on June 8, 2003 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He was 83.
He was part-owner of the Indians from 1972-1986 and was the board chairman for 18 months. He was the owner of Mogul Corp., a company that sold water treatment chemicals.
His family said that he enjoyed listening to Indians games on the radio and he was listening to an Indians-Diamondbacks game at the time of his death.
