Jerry Stephenson's career as a player was brief -- he appeared in a total of 29 games over the course of the 1943, 1944 and 1947 seasons.

He contributed much more after his playing career ended. Stephenson became a major league scout for the Boston Red Sox and signed such players as Fred Lynn, Bill Lee and Dwight Evans.

He is also the father of Jerry Stephenson who pitched for Boston, Seattle and the LA Dodgers.
