Mike Sharperson, a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina, made his debut with Toronto in 1987, but quickly ended up in Los Angeles where he spent the majority of his career. Sharperson played the most at third base, but also found playing time at second, shortstop, first and the outfield.
His best season came in 1992 when he finished with a .300 average, 3 home runs and 36 runs batted in. Sharperson was named to the All-Star Team that season.
Sharperson was killed as a result of an automobile accident in 1997.
