Xavier Rescigno, a winner of 19 games in the major leagues, died on Dec. 24, 2005 in Sun City West, Ariz.
Rescigno made his debut in 1943 with Pittsburgh. He pitched in 129 games in the majors, posting a 19-22 record and 16 saves in 335.1 innings pitched. He struck out 115 batters and finished his career with a 4.13 ERA.
He pitched for Pittsburgh from 1943 to 1945. He was 6-9 with a 2.98 ERA in his first season and won 10 games in 1944.
