Ribs Raney, who pitched four games for the St. Louis Browns, died on July 7, 2003.
He debuted with the Browns on Sept. 18, 1949 and pitched in 16.1 innings that season. He finished with a 1-2 record and a 7.71 ERA.
He appeared in one more game on April 22, 1950 with the Browns, pitching 2 innings and allowing a earned run.
His nickname of Ribs was reportedly a reference to the fact he was 6'4" and weighed just 190.
