Tot Pressnell, who debuted with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1938, died on Jan. 6, 2001.  He was 84.

His career included stops with the Dodgers (1938-40) and the Chicago Cubs (1941-42). He finished his career with a 32-30 record and a 3.80 ERA.

His best season came in his debut year when he finished with an 11-14 record for the Dodgers.  He pitched in 43 games, starting 19 of them, and recorded 57 strikeouts in 192 innings.  His first start in the majors was a shutout victory over the Phillies.
