Elmo Plaskett, a catcher who played in 17 games with the
Pirates, died on Nov. 2,
1998 in Christiansted, Virgin Islands.
Plaskett, who was born in the Virgin Islands, made his
major league debut with the
Pirates in 1962. He appeared in seven games that season and collected four hits
in
14 at-bats. One of those hits was the only home run of his major league career.
He played in 10 games for the Pirates in 1963. He had
three hits in 21 at-bats and
collected two RBI. |
