Ernest Eugene Oravetz

Ernie Oravetz, an outfielder who stood just 5-foot, 4-inches tall, died on Dec. 3, 2006 in Tampa, Fla. He had been suffereing through pancreatic cancer. He was 74.
He played 188 games in the major leagues, hitting .262 with 36 RBI and two stolen bases.
He made his debut on April 11, 1955 with Washington. Oravetz appeared in 100 games that season, hitting .270 in 263 at-bats.
Following his career in baseball, Oravetz worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 30 years.
