Chuck Oretel, who played for the Baltimore Orioles in 1958, died on Oct. 4, 2000.

"Snuffy" debuted on Sept. 1, 1958, and collected 2 hits in 12 at-bats. One of his hits was a home run.

Oertel was signed in 1950 by major league scout Tony Stiel. At one point in his minor league career, Oertel played for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
