Mike Naymick, a pitcher who won five games in the major leagues, died on Oct. 12, 2005 in Stockton, Calif. He was 89.
Naymick pitched in 52 games over four seasons. He finished with a 5-7 record, a 3.93 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 112.1 innings pitched.
He made his major-league debut on Sept. 24, 1939 with Cleveland. He appeared in games with the Indians in 1939, 1940, 1943 and 1944. In 1944, he pitched two innings in one game for the St. Louis Browns.
His most productive season came in 1943 with the Indians. He pitched in 29 games, including four starts, and finished with a 4-4 record, two saves and a 3.10 ERA.
