Patrick Joseph Mullin

Pat Mullin, an outfielder whose career was interrupted by four years of service in World War II, died on Aug. 14, 1999 in Brownsville, Penn.
Mullin hit .271 in his career with 87 home runs and 385 RBI. He debuted with the Tigers in 1940 and hit .345 in 54 games in his rookie season in 1941.
However, he was in the service following the 1941 season and did not play in the majors again until 1946. He was named to the All-Star team in 1947 and 1948. His most productive season came in 1948 when he hit .288 with 23 home runs and 80 RBI.
On June 26, 1949, he hit three home runs in a game.
