Joseph Gordon Mueller

Gordie Mueller, who pitched eight innings in the major leagues, died on Sept. 7, 2006 in Baltimore, Md. The cause of death was reported as heart disease. He was 83.
He made his major league debut during the 1950 season with the Boston Red Sox. He pitched seven innings in eight games, posting a 10.29 ERA and recording no decisions.
According to his obituary, he pitched in the minor leagues in the 1940s and 1950s, including time in the International League.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Following his career in baseball, Mueller became a shopping center leasing executive.
