Eric Moody, born in Greenville, South Carolina, pitched in 10 games for the Texas Rangers during the 1997 season. A graduate of Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina, Moody finished the season with an 0-1 record and a 4.26 earned run average in 19 innings pitched.  Moody notched 12 strikeouts.

Moody was most recently pitching as part of the Florida Marlins and San Diego Padres minor league systems. In 2001, he pitched in the Pirates organization for the AAA Nashville Sounds. He finished the season with a 5-6 record, 3.45 earned run average in 112.1 innings pitched. 

Moody was selected by Texas in the 24th round of the 1993 amateur draft. He was signed by Jim Fairey, a former major league player and Erskine graduate. That year, he made his debut with Erie (A) in the Texas organization. 

In 1998, he went on the 60-day disabled list with pain in his elbow. In the off-season, he had surgery to remove bone chips. He returned in 1999 to go 7-2 with a 3.42 ERA for Texas' AAA team.

In 1990, he attended San Diego's training camp as a non-roster invitee and he started with season with AAA Las Vegas. After spending some time on the DL, he was released in May of that year. He signed with Florida and spent the rest of the season at AAA Calgary.
