Ira Lee Mobley St., who played in the Negro Leagues, died on Nov. 30, 2003 in Ocean Springs, Miss. He was 78.
According to "The Negro Leagues Book", Mobley played for the Kansas City Monarchs in 1954 as a shortstop, second baseman and outfielder.
He played for the first baseball team at Southern University from 1949-51 and was inducted into the Southern University Hall of Fame in 1991.
Mobley had worked in the Moss Point School system for 34 years and had served as administrator for part of that time, according to his obituary.
