Durwood Merrill

Durwood Merrill, an American League umpire for 23 years, died Jan. 11, 2003, at the age of 64. He died of complications from a heart attack.
In his career, Merrill worked the 1988 World Series, the 1996 AL Division Series, the 1984, 1995 and 1999 All-Star Games.
He retired in 1999 and lived in New Boston, Texas.
