Pinky May Merrill Glend May

In a career spanning 5 years, May hit .275 with 4 HRS and 215 RBI in 665 games. He was signed by the Yankees in 1932 while he was at Indiana University. He debuted in 1939 with the Phillies and played in the majors until 1943 when he left for military service in World War II. Following military service, he became a manager in the minor leagues. Johnny Bench was one of his former players. His son, Milt May, had a 15-year career in the majors as a catcher. Milt had a game-winning pinch-hit for the Pirates in the 1971 World Series.
