Chris Kitsos, a shortstop who played in one game for the Cubs in 1954, died on June 7, 2004 at his home in Mobile, Ala. from lung cancer. He was 76.

His lone major-league game came on April 21, 1954 and he received no official at-bats in the game.

He was a part of the Mobile minor league team that won the 1955 Southern Association championship. According to his obituary, he also played for the New Orleans Pelicans.

He played for the Mobile Bears in 1955 and 1956. He was also a part of the Brooklyn Dodgers' organization for 10 years.

Following his career in baseball, he was a youth baseball coach and worked with the Mobile Parks and Recreation Department. He was also an employee of Mobile Gas.
