Walt Kellner, who pitched briefly in the major leagues, died on June 19, 2006 in Tucson, Ariz.
Kellner made his major league debut in 1952 with the Philadelphia Athletics. He pitched four innings that season and three more in 1953.
He finished his major league career with an 0-0 record and a save in seven innings pitched. He struck out six batters and allowed five earned runs.
His brother, Alex, was also a pitcher in the major leagues. He was teammates with his brother for the brief period he was a part of the Athletics in 1952.
Walt's son, Joe Kellner, pitched for the University of Arizona team that won the national championship in 1980. Another son, Frank, pitched in the minor leagues and is now a pitching coach at the college level.
