Jake Jones played 10 games for the Chicago White Sox in 1941 and 1942 before serving in the military during World War II.
After the war, he returned to play for Chicago in 1946. In 1947, he split time between the White Sox and Red Sox and had 575 at-bats in 154 games. He hit .237 with 19 home runs and 96 RBIs that season.
He played 36 games for the Red Sox in 1948 to end his career in the major leagues.
