In 1964 and 1965, John Hoffman, a catcher, appeared in 8 games with Houston.  He had 3 hits in 21 at-bats, drove in a run and hit .143.

In 1966, Houston traded Hoffman, along with Gene Ratliff and Ed Pacheco, to Atlanta for Tom Dukes, Dan Schneider and Lee Bales.  He was also a member of the Pittsburgh system at one point.
