Ralph Hamner's pitching career spanned four seasons in the Major Leagues and he compiled an 8-20 record in 220 innings pitched. His career involved both Chicago teams with which he started and relieved.
He pitched 71.1 innings in his rookie season in 1946 and finished with a 2-7 record for the White Sox. His most productive season was in 1948 when he finished 5-9 in 111.1 innings pitched for the Cubs. He allowed nearly a hit an inning that season.
