Warren Hacker spent 12 years as a pitcher in the major leagues. Much of that time was spend with the Chicago Cubs. The Illinois native played for the Cubs from 1948-1956, the Reds in 1957, the Phillies in 57-58 and with the Chicago White Sox in 1961.

In his career, Hacker manager a 62-89 record with 17 saves in 1283.1 innings. He had a career ERA of 4.21. In 1952, he finished with a 15-9 record and a 2.58 ERA for the Cubs. The next season, he lead the National League with 19 losses.

Hacker died in 2002. He was the uncle of Rich Hacker.
