Ted Gullic, who hit 9 home runs in his 2-year career with the St. Louis Browns, died on Jan. 28, 2000 in West Plains, Mo.
One of his bigger moments was also one of the worst for a Chicago pitcher. On June 13, 1933, White Sox pitcher Whit Wyatt had a no-hitter going until two outs in the ninths inning when Gullic got a hit. Wyatt still got a 6-1 win.
In 1933, he hit .250 in 308 at-bats with four home runs and 44 RBIs. In 1933, he hit .243 in 304 at-bats with five home runs and 35 RBI.
