John Duffie, who was born in Greenwood, S.C., in 1945, pitched in two games in the major leagues in 1967 with the Dodgers.
In two starts, he finished with an 0-2 record and a 2.79 earned run average. He also had six strikeouts.
Prior to his appearance in the majors, Duffie had pitched for two seasons in the minor leagues. In 1966, he won 13 games for Jamestown of the New York-Penn. League while posting six shutouts and 14 complete games.
In 1967, he was named MVP of the Texas League after winning 16 games for Albuquerque.
