Garton Del Savio, a shortstop who played in four games for the Phillies in 1943, died on Nov. 9, 2006 in Blauvelt, New York. He was 92.

He made his major league debut on April 24, 1943 and played in his last game on April 29. He collected a hit in 11 at-bats. He made three errors in four games.

Del Savio served in the Coast Guard during World War II. According to his obituary, he served with Major League player Hank Sauer.

Following his career in baseball, Del Savio worked as a supervisor for the New York City Department of Sanitation. He later worked for a surgical supply company, according to his obituary.
