At the conclusion of the 2001 season, he declined assignment to AAA and became a free agent. Cromer played for the University of South Carolina and was selected in the 11th round of the 1992 amateur draft His minor league career has included South Oregon, Madison, Western Michigan, Modesto, Huntsville, Edmonton, Indianapolis and Louisville. Through the end of the 2001 season, he had collected 148 home runs and 736 RBI in the minor leagues. In 1999, he had 30 home runs and 107 RBI for Indianapolis of the International League. In 2002, Cromer signed with the Nippon Ham Fighters in Japan.. |
