Pat Crawford, a utility infielder from Society Hill, S.C., played in 318 games in four seasons in Major League Baseball. He made his debut in 1929 with the New York Giants.

In a game on May 26, 1929, Crawford hit a pinch-hit grand slam to help the New York Giants break a 2-2 tie against the Braves. That season, Crawford has three pinch-hit home runs.

His most productive season came in 1930 when he played for both the Giants and the Reds. In 101 games, he collected 86 hits in 300 at-bats. He hit 6 home runs and drove in 43 runs with a .287 batting average.

Following his career in baseball, Crawford worked as a scout and signed, among others, South Carolina-native Ernie White.
