Bubba Church was a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies' famed Whiz Kids. Over this course of his 6-year career, Church played for the Phillies (1950-1952), the Reds (1952-1953), and the Cubs (1953-1955).

Church finished with a 36-37 records and 3.37 ERA in 999.2 innings pitched. He also collected 4 saves. In 162 games, Church hit .226 with 3 home runs and 13 RBI. 

During the 1950 season, Church was playing a key role in the Phillies' fight for a pennant. However, he was struck in the face by a pitch and his season was over.

Church's best season came in 1951 when he finished with 15-11 with a 3.53 ERA in 247 innings pitched.
