Jaime Bluma pitched in college for Wichita State and, in 1993, joined Major League pitcher Darren Driefort to form a strong 1-2 punch out of the bullpen for the Shockers. Following his college career, he was drafted in the third round by the Kansas City Royals in 1994.

During the 1996 season, he appeared at the Major League level with the Kansas City Royals. In 17 games, Bluma pitched 10 innings and finished with a 3.60 earned run average. He was a perfect 5-for-5 in save opportunities.

During the 2000 season, he was pitching in the Kansas City minor league system, appearing with both the Omaha Golden Spikes (AAA) and the Wichita Wranglers (AA).

His brother, Marc, followed him to pitch for Wichita State.
