Terry Blocker appeared in 110 Major League games during the parts of three seasons in 1985, 1988 and 1989.
His most productive season came in 1988 as a member of the Atlanta Braves. Blocker hit .212 in 198 at-bats with 2 home runs and 10 runs batted in.
Blocker was selected fourth in the 1981 amateur draft by the New York Mets. The top six picks in this draft include 1. Mike Moore (Seattle), 2. Joe Carter (Cubs), 3. Dick Schofield (Angels), 4. Blocker, 5. Matt Williams (Toronto) and 6. Kevin McReynolds (Padres).
In 1987, the Mets traded Blocker to the Braves for a player to be named later. That player was pitcher Kevin Brown who posted a 3-5 record in parts of three major league seasons from 1990-1992.
