Greg Biagini

Greg Biagini, a former minor league manager and major league coach, died on Oct. 3, 2003 from kidney cancer. He was 51.
In 1990, he managed the Rochester Red Wings to the Governor's Cup Championship. The team posted a .614 winning percentage that was the best for a Red Wings team since the 1970s. The team won the International League East Division Pennant by 21 1/2 games.
He managed Rochester from 1989-91, finishing with a 237-197 record, before becoming a bench coach with the Orioles for two seasons. He later moved to Oklahoma City where he had managed the AAA club for five years.
Biagini had played first base in the Montreal minor-league system and later worked for Johnny Oates as a member of the Texas Rangers coaching staff. He had also worked with the Boston Red Sox organization as a minor-league hitting instructor
He is survived by his fianc�e and two children.
