Bertell hit .250 in his career with 10 home runs and 112 RBI in 1,310 major league at-bats. He caught in 112 games for Chicago in 1964, hitting .238 that season with 4 home runs and 35 RBI. In May 1965, the Giants traded Harvey Kuenn, Bob Hendley and Ed Bailey to the Cubs for Bertell and Len Gabrielson. In April 1967, the Giants traded Bertell back to the Cubs for Don Bryant. Bertell was released in May of that season and never appeared in the majors again. |
