Victor Bernal, who pitched 15 games in the Major Leagues in 1977, died on Sept. 2, 2006 in Los Angeles, Calif. He was 52.

Bernal made his debut with the San Diego Padres on April 6, 1977. He pitched in 15 games, posting a 5.31 ERA and a 1-1 record in 20.1 innings pitched.

He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the sixth round of the 1975 amateur draft.
